Farm Fresh Spotlight: Sackmann Cattle Company
The Sackmann’s roots in Eastern Washington run deep, going back over a century. Owners Jeff and Jaime Sackmann both grew up on farming and ranching homesteads settled in the 1900’s. While ranching is in their blood, the Sackmann’s have continued to develop a contemporary, and successful breeding philosophy. Jaime holds a Masters Degree in Animal Science with an emphasis on ruminant nutrition and meat science. “Our cows eat local all year, whether they’re in their pasture or eating from the crops in fields nearby,” she explains. “Using local forage we are able to give our cows the nutrition they need to thrive in our area.” She and Jeff are committed to building healthy herd that provides consumers with the high quality beef her family enjoys around the dinner table. The Sackmann’s now proudly produce Certified Angus Beef. “For starters, it’s an excellent, consistent high-quality beef,” Jeff ads. “The brand itself is a great success story. It has raised the bar on quality.”
